Overview of Allegany County Records

Allegany County was created in 1806 from Genesee County.
The New York State Department of Health has copies of birth, marriage, and death records starting in 1880. Individual town or city clerks also have copies of birth, marriage, and death records.
The Allegany County Clerk has marriage records from 1908 to 1935, land records starting in 1807, divorce records, and court records starting in 1807.
The Allegany County Surrogate Court has probate records starting in 1807.
