Explanation

Every cemetery in thses collections is given a number, which is a great aid in many respects. Every tomb-stone and separate name is also given a number, thus enabling any one, at once, to see how many bodies are buried in each cemetery, as shown by the names.

The oldest and most recent stones are listed at the end of each large emmetery, so as to determine the dates between which the cemetery was surely used.

An effort is made to retain all plots intact, and to list all monuments, thereby preserving as far as is possible, ever fact of relationship. Hence the need of cross-references, which are usually not numbered.

An attempt is made to give, as NOTES, the maiden names of wives and mothers. It must be understood that the names and dates in all such NOTES do not appear on the stones. A great many more such notes could be added by the compiler.

Bible records are added where they can be obtained. Marriages from Church records are also added from thelarge collection in the possession of the compiler. Hence this cemetery record is quite largely edited.
