General Edmonds was born in the City of New York, Aug. 27, 1760. He was in College in Rhode Island, when the Revolutionary War broke out. He immediately joined the American Army and served in various capacities until the close of the war. In 1785 he settled in this place then called Claverack Landing and resided here until his death which occurred on the 14th of March 1825 (or26).
