M. A. Lesem's Kneipp Sanitarium

For the Cure of Acute and Chronic Diseases.

2455-2467 FIRST STREET, SAN DIEGO, CAL.

T HIS institution is strictly a Kneipp Sanitarium. All treatments are administered in exact accordance with the precepts of Kneipp him- self. Our marvelous success in curing the sick has been achieved through means of long experience, coupled with the knowledge of how to properly administer the various treatments, and by strictly confining our- selves to the Kneipp method of treatment. Numberless sufferers have come to us afflicted with very critical diseases which had been pronounced incurable by others. But with our method of treatment, we have obtained the most astonishing results, restoring them to perfect health. We hold in our possession numerous testimonials substantiating the above state- ment-testimonials freely tendered to us by the best people in the city and elsewhere.

All sufferers desiring relief, who are not familiar with the Kneipp treatment as is practiced by us are requested to call, and we will furnish them convincing proofs that any and all diseases, whether acute or of long standing, will yield to our system of using the Kneipp method of treatment. We charge nothing for consultation. Pamphlets furnished upon request.

Remember, all diseases cured without drugs or operation.

INTRODUCTORY

This, our tenth volume of the San Diego City and County Direc- tory, has been completed in record time notwithstanding the great increase in population since the 1911 Directory was issued and the consequent increase in the number of inhabitants of the city and county. We have allowed nothing to interfere with the care with which the work has been done and now offer the completed Directory to our patrons and the public, knowing that it will be found both use- ful and accurate and that the business and social interests of the County will be much facilitated by its frequent use.

Our estimate of the

Population Is 67,704

When compared with the census of 1911 we find that the city of San Diego is increasing at the rate of 35 per day or 12,704 during the year just passed. The 1911 City Directory contained 27,500 individual names of San Diego City, while this book just completed contains 30,725. The bank clearings for the past year are $115,113,000.00, and the total deposits for the same period were $18,603,110.89. The total number of building permits issued in the last twelve months were 4,153 with a valuation of $8,018,935.00, and the total number of per- mits issued during the past six months was very close to total num- ber of the previous twelve months. All these facts show that San Diego has never been more prosperous than at the present time.

In order that this information may be known not only here but in all the important Cities of the United States, we, as usual, will have on file at the Directory office in these Cities a 1912 San Diego City and County Directory which may be referred to by any one seeking information.

In our canvass we have received the aid and support of the com- munity and in return have put forth our best efforts to the end that San Diego may have a Directory in keeping with the commercial importance of the City.
