PREFACE


In cormiling the records for 1857, again, as Chairman of Genealogical records, it gives me unusual pleasure to acknowledge my indebtedness to my committee. I a preciate to the highest the abilities, the thoroughness and fitness for this work of an unusual group of women. Three new members have been added to the committee this year; Mrs. Walter E. Janke, Mrs. George Wilmot Hallowell, and Mrs. Arthur Still.
