RUNNYMEDE
The Runnymede-Ravenswood colony is located just across the boundary line in San Mateo county. The colony is made up of small farms devoted to intensive agriculture and poultry. A large proportion of the population receives mail from the Palo Alto postoffice only by the rural free delivery. The houses are not numbered. In the accompanying list the name is given, the street upon which the home is located, then the rural free delivery box number, which will enable searchers to locate residences. In some instances Runnymede and Ravens- wood have boxes at the Palo Alto postoffices, the number being given in such cases. Delivery of mail through the Menlo Park postoffice has been discontinued.
Runnymede and -Ravenswood are not incorporated. Children attend the Ravenswood school, which in 1916 had not more than a dozen pupils. Now there is an attendance of 179. Trustees are L. H. Brown, clerk; Mrs. J. A. Cameron and E. R. Lam. The teachers are Mrs. Frances Hambleton, principal; Bernice Ewell, Ruth Harris, Aurelia Weston, and Louise Clark.
Organizations
