It is condneted under.the auspices of the ent Dashaway Association.

This Order sustains the Good Templara' Home Orphans, located at Vallejo, California. The lu ings, which are capacious, elegant and comfort: were erected in 1869, by the Good Templars of Cal nia and Nevada. The Home was opened for the ri tion of orphan children, October 1, 1870, and is occupied by one hundred and thirty children, wh receiving shelter and education beneath its $45,000 has been expended in its erection, and a $200,000 in support of ita inmates. It is in a plete and exact sense a public charity, openly i ing the homeless from all portions of the State California and Nevada, to share in its beneficel It derives its name from the fact of its tion by the Good Templars and its suppor that Order. It is also under the control of the G Lodge of the Order, but its title is not meant to vey any idea of exclusiveness as to the class adm to its sheltering offices. To be & homeless orpha the only passport required at its portals. Iu cor tion with this society, and sustained by them Bands of Hope, composed of children under (w years of age, who are supplied with rituals and ba free. These organizations now number in the About fourteen thousand children.
