SYNDICATE EXCHANGE Private offices on the de luxe "desk space" plan

For the man who is constantly "in and out," for the man who is in Oakland for just a short time and for the "one man" busi- ness with only intermittent need of outside help, the Syndicate Exchange is the most economical, complete office service offered in Oakland. It is a suite of roomy, private offices served by one large waiting room or lobby.

Stenographic service is conveniently available. A public steno- grapher is located in the lobby of the Exchange.

Telephone service is secured by ordering a phone with an ex- tension in the usual manner. Our secretary will take messages for you over the extension when you are out. A pay station takes care of visitors and tenants waiting for service.

Mail and telephone messages are placed in boxes in the lobby of the Exchange.

Whatever your office needs may be-"desk space" or a whole floor -- you will find ideal accomoda- tions in the Syndicate Building

CHINESE HERBS

THE FONG WAN HERB CO. GENUINE IMPORTERS of HERBS from CHINA

gives better value, higher quality, and a more complete treatment of herbs than can be obtained elsewhere for the same or even more money. Naturally quicker results are obtained from the Fong Wan Herb Treatments. The Fong Wan method of healing is based upon the five principal elements of Nature and of the Human Body.

NOTE: The Fong Wan Herbalist is neither a childish old "doctor" nor a young, inexperienced kid. He is a man in the prime of life, intelligent and abounding in health and vigor, educated in both Chinese and English, with a wide range of experience and a profound knowledge of Chinese Materia Medica. During the eleven years that he has spent in Oakland, he has relieved over 14,000 sufferers.

Because the Fong Wan Herb Company has so large a herb business and is recommended by so many grateful people, it is not necessary for it to make false claims such as that of having cured the Emperor of China, in order to attract patronage. Fong Wan gives prompt, personal attention to all comers. He does not believe in keeping sick people waiting in the office for hours in order to give the impression that he is a "good doctor" and has an "extensive practice."

THE TRUTH: The State Medical Board does not grant licenses to any Chinese Herbalists. Consequently, no Chinese Herbalist has a genuine State License, with the possible exception of a limited number of American- born Chinese who have graduated from Medical Colleges in the United States. However, their knowledge of healing is confined chiefly to the use of chemical drugs, while their ability to dispense herbs is doubtful.

Almost any Chinese Herbalist can get certificates issued by Chinese officials, such as ministers and consuls, but these are valueless and a herbal- ist of real ability would not have them around. Diplomas granted by Chinese Universities are not recognized in this State. In common with other countries, China also has its diploma mills.

$500 REWARD: The Fong Wan Herb Company offers $500 reward to any person who will prove that Fong Wan has not relieved twice as many sick people as any other Chinese Herbalist in Oakland. The hundreds of testimonials printed annually in the newspapers evidence that Fong Wan has relieved the greatest number of sufferers.

Our Wonderful Chinese Herbs for Every Ill

Stomach Trouble Conquered Five Years Ago

April 10, 1927. To Whom It May Concern:

For five years I suffered with stomach trouble and could get no relief, though I treated with three different physicians and took a serum treat- ment for a year. I was unable to eat the simplest food without suffering the most violent pain, and after being in bed at home for 26 days I went to an Oakland hospital. Here I remained for six weeks, while the entire hospital staff attempted to diagnose my case and 17 X-ray pictures were made of my stomach.

I left the hospital six months ago, weighing 90 pounds. Before undergoing an operation and spend- ing more money with no certainty of success, I decided to try herb treatments.

DR. H. S. LOW, Herbalist for the DR. SING HERB SPECIALISTS, said he would have me well in six months, but it only took three months. Now I weigh 145 pounds.

I cannot speak too highly of the DR. SING HERB SPECIALISTS, and it is always a pleasure to recommend them. I have sent several patients to them and in every case treatments have been most successful.

Let Us Save You Time, Money and Worry

Neuritis Relieved-No Return in Two Years March 30, 1927.

To Whom It May Concern

After suffering three years and nine months of untold agony with pains in my limbs and feet, I accidentally met a patient of DR. H. S. LOW, and he told me of the wonderful cure he had received from the herbs for asthma.

So I thought I would give the herbs a trial. I was getting so weak I could not even do my house- work and I lost weight, going down from 153 to 115 pounds. I did not know what a night's sleep or rest was because I had to walk the floor and suffer most of the night.

DR. LOW said my pains were caused by the nerves, After taking the herbs for a while, my pains became less frequent, and now I am thankful to say they are entirely gone and I can sleep all night and do my own work.

Anyone suffering with nervous trouble (or neuritis pains, as I called them) who would like to talk to me personally may call at my residence, for I would be only too happy to help anyone who is suffering as I have suffered. My husband joins with me in thanking DR. H. S. LOW, Directing Herbalist for the DR. SING HERB SPECIALISTS, at 491 Tenth Street.

(Signed) MRS. M. TEN EYCK, W'M. H. TEN EYCK, 537 53rd St., Oakland.

MY GREATLY ENLARGED AND NEWLY REMODELED HERB OFFICES ARE READY TO SERVE YOU IN A BIGGER, BETTER WAY

The Sing Herb Co. Has Enjoyed a Sterling Reputation Since 1912

Chinese herbs, existing for a period of 5000 years, have demonstrated their usefulness to the Chinese nation of 400,000,000 people. The human diaphragms and organs of all people are alike, no matter what color the skin may be. Therefore, relief for the Chinese must necessarily be relief for the white people.

We have proof of the fact through our long list of satisfied and relieved patients. HIS UNDISPUTED ABILITY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED BY PROMINENT FAMILIES

OF ALAMEDA COUNTY:
