EL CAJON
This most beautiful section of San Diego County is located about fifteen miles Northeast of the City of San Diego. The original Spanish Grant contained about 50,000 acres, more than 30,000 acres of which has agricultural possibilities. The territory is especially noted for the produc- tion of lemons, oranges, grape fruit and the muscatel grapes. From these muscatels, in the neighborhood of two million pounds are shipped as fresh fruit to Eastern markets, while more than three million pounds of raisins are made from the rest of the crop. The elevation varies from 150 feet to 600 feet and this permits of a production not only of the above main crops, but of the growing of almost any fruit, grain or vegetable which can be produced in any section of California. The community is supplied with good schools, churches, telephones and electricity is available for lights and pumping. Water is secured throughout the valley at depths averaging forty-five feet. There is also a water supply available from the Cuyamaca Flume.
