THE TRADE OF THE PACIFIC
A Quarterly Advertising Journal, DEVOTED TO THE INTERESTS OF THE PACIFIC COAST.
It is the intention of the undersigned to make the TRADE OF THE PACIFIC a vehicle for the dissemination of correct and important information connected with the resources of the Pacific Coast, and a reliable medium of communication between the whole- sale merchant and manufacturer, and the retail trader, in the States and Territories border- ing on the Pacific Coast, and the adjacent foreign countries having commercial intercourse with San Francisco.
The TRADE OF THE PACIFIC will be issued in quarto form, on the first day of July, October, January and April of each year. Each number will contain, in addition to its advertising patronage, carefully written articles on subjects connected with the Commer- cial, Agricultural, Manufacturing and Mining resources of the Pacific Coast ; also, a quar- terly report of Trade ; a prices current of the San Francisco Markets, and such other attractive features as will render the different issues welcome visitors to every merchant and trader into whose hands it may find its way.
The TRADE OF THE PACIFIC will be regularly forwarded, FREE, to every Merchant, Manufacturer and Professional in the States of California, Oregon, Nevada ; the Territories of Washington, Idaho, Montana, Utah, Arizona, Alaska, and the principal merchants in the following foreign countries, viz .: British Columbia, Mexico, Central America, South America, Sandwich Islands, Phillipine Islands, Society Islands, China, Japan, Australia, New Zealand and Tasmania. Also, to the proprietor (or superintendent) of each quartz, saw and grist mill on the Pacific Coast. Copies of the work, bound in an attractive and substantial manner, will be placed on board of the different steamers, and in the principal hotels and public houses on the Coast.
The lists by which the distribution of the work will be made, have been carefully com- piled from reports of traveling agents, and other reliable sources, and the most vigilant care will be exercised to include therein, from time to time, all additions and changes that may take place.
By the above plan, which shall be faithfully adhered to, over twenty thousand (20,000) merchants, etc., each one of whom is more or less interested in the objects of the work, will be reached quarterly, thereby presenting advantages for the circulation of business announcements not to be secured by any other publication. ·
From the assurances already received trom many of the leading business firms in this city, the undersigned anticipates for the TRADE OF THE PACIFIC, an advertising patronage amply sufficient to meet its requirements, and a support in other respects com- mensurate with the objeets of the work.
The initial number of the work is now being prepared for the press, and will be issued at the earliest practicable date, in advance of its regular day of publication, July 1st, 1879.
