Funeral Notice of James King of William from The Daily Evening Bulletin, May 20 (1.6., May 21), 1856
Mr. King's funeral will take place tomorrow, (May 22, 1856), Thursday, at 12 o'clock, from the Unitarian Church, on Stockton St. bet. Clay and Sacramento Sts.
The service will be conducted by the Rev. Mr. Cutler, pastor of the Church, assisted by Messrs. Taylor and Lacy. No paper will be issued from this office tomorrow.
While there were columns of editorials in all of the journals of San Francisco and elsewhere on the assassination of James King of William, apparently the above funeral notice of The Daily Evening Bulletin served as the sole official an- nouncement of his death and the funeral arrangements. . No notices in the regular death columns appear.
The announcement stands at the head of the coltum immediately below the names of the Editorial Staff.
