HAROLD B. LEE LIBRARY BRIGHAM YOUNG UNIVERSITY PROVO, UTAH

THIRTY-NINTH YEAR

INTRODUCTORY

Denver Directory Office. June, 1911.

We present this, the thirty-ninth issue of continuous pub- lication of the Denver City Directory, by the present firm, for your approval.

This Directory contains 122,921 names, which is an increase of 5,848 names over last issue, and would indicate a population of 225,000, which the publishers believe to be a conservative es- timate of the population of this community at the present time.

You will see that this volume contains less pages than last year's issue, which is accounted for by the widening of columns and the use of more abbreviations.

Population, however, is not the only growth of the City. The pages of this volume present evidence of general civic and commercial advancement. Many new industries are listed; new business blocks, new apartment houses, new theatres, new schools, new churches. All these mean a progress more impor- tant to a municipality than mere numbers of inhabitants.

Careful and painstaking effort has been expended in every department, and we wish to express our appreciation of the efforts of those who have co-operated with our representatives to make a work of this kind possible.
