OLD CEMETERY AT COS COB. March, 1908. On the westerly side of the Mill Pond. Erroneously called an Indian Burying Ground, because according to traditions, the Indians buried their Chief Cos Cob here. It is the second oldest cemetery in town and many of the carly settlers were buried here. The highway now runs through it.


Gard-ner, Sarah, d. Oct. 24, 1795, ae. 21 yrs, 7 mos and 7 days. This stone stands across the road against the fence. She was on a trip from New York to Boston by stage, when taken sick, and was cared for during her sickness at the old Brush House at Cos Cob. 1
