PRICE.


I. PAUL PRICE, a native of Yorkshire, Eng., came to this conutry as a soldier in the British army in 1775. He was a sergeant, was in the battle of Bunker Hill and other engagements. His regi- ment was transferred to New York, and, in a skirmish there, he, with some others, were taken prisoners. He was brought to Litch- field a prisoner, and in 1780 was paroled. He remained in Litch- field, and the same year he married a Widow Vaill, whose maiden name was Sarah Berry. She had three children by her first hus- band, one of whom, David Vaill, made a home in Goshen, and was the paternal ancestor of all the Vaills in this section.
