The Objects of the Association are as Follows :
FIRST: To improve the directory business by the interchange of ideas, and by the exchange of competent employees.
SECOND: To protect the public against fraudulent advertis- ing schemes, operated under the name of directories, and to drive such publishers out of the business.
THIRD: To provide permanent and continuous employment for honest and faithful directory canvassers.
FOURTH: For the mutual advancement of the established and prospective interests of all who may become members of the association.
PREFATORY.
The Maloney Directory Company present to the pub- lic their Pensacola City Directory for 1900, with the belief that in point of information and completeness it will give entire satisfaction and reflect credit upon the city. We follow the rule adopted in all other cities in which we publish, i. e., we do not stop at the city limits proper, or any im- aginary line, but embrace all the suburbs tributary to the city. We find the nearest average number throughout the different streets of the city to be "three" to each name occupying space in the Di- rectory. We have recorded in the general directory, white and colored, 7,704 names ; consequently, at the average stated above Pensacola has to day a population (including suburbs) of 23,112.
In conclusion, we beg to return our most cordial thanks to those who have so generously given us their support, and to them we hereby dedicate this work. To the public generally who have kindly aided us in getting up the data, etc., we return our ac- knowledgments. To our patrons and the public in general, we promise to make each succeeding volume of THE MALONEY DIRECTORY Co.'s Pensacola City Directory more worthy of com- mendation and patronage.
Respectfully, THE MALONEY DIRECTORY CO.

"Bosso's Blessing to Mankind."
(A remedy wonderful in discovery, powerful in effect.) Discovered by Bosso, from which it takes it name, but now manufactured and sold by Mr. C. Apostole, 216 South Palafox. This medicine was tried through- out the yellow fever districts of Mississippi in the summer of 1897, with good and satisfactory results, making many cures. So effectual is this remedy that the proprietor and manufacturer has this to say :
" If this medicine, used according to directions, does not cure any case of YELLOW FEVER, Malarial, Bilious or Intermittent Fever, I will refund the purchase money, and the trial will cost you nothing. It is also a safe and sure preventive of fevers of all kinds, when properly used. I positively guarantee all this, and will refund the cash if it fails.
"C. APOSTOLE, 216 S. Palafox St., Pensacola, Fla."
PENSACOLA, FLA., January 17, 1898.
MR. C. APOSTOLE: I want to add my testimony to the many you already have as to the effect of Bosso's Blessing to Mankind as a yellow fever remedy. At Scranton, Miss., I was attacked with something the doctors pronounced to be yellow fever, and after the doctors pronounced my case past recovery, I, as a last resort, took Bosso's Blessing to Mankind, and am still here, sound and well.
Yours truly, Q. B. LYONS
