PREFACE.

In presenting this, the 28th edition of "The Atlanta City Direc- tory," we feel confident it is the best Directory ever given Atlanta.

It will be noticed that the book is somewhat smaller than last years', it is purposely made so, by using a thinner paper, in order that it can be more easily handled by the user.

We invite the attention of the public to our advertisers, all of whom we know to be honest, reliable firms, in fact we never solicit, or allow a doubtful firm to advertise in this book; we take only those whom we know to be worthy of the confidence and patronage of the stranger within our gates, as well as our home folks.

As we have in the past and will in the future, we do now, call upon all true Atlantians, to Patronize Home Industry, it is the foundation of our future greatness and prosperity; and it should be the joy of every Atlanta man and woman to point with pride to the Atlanta made article in their home or on their person; and Atlanta makes some of nearly everything that is necessary to human existence, and in many instances better than anything made beyond our borders.

Let us all pull for Atlanta-A 200,000 city.

Thanking our friends and patrons for their many kind words and deeds; and hoping to be held ever worthy of future kindness, we remain Respectfully,

ATLANTA CITY DIRECTORY, JOSEPH W. HILL, Mgr.
