AMES CHAMBER OF COMMERCE AND AGRICULTURE
The Ames Chamber of Commerce and Agriculture was organized by the business men of Ames, citizens of the town and farmers in the surround- ing territory, in June, 1916.
It has a membership of approximately 200, and is active in all com- munity work.
Meetings are held the second Friday of each month, and the Executive Board meets the first Friday of the month and at the call of the President at any other ime.

THE STREETS AND AVENUES
The avenues run north and south, the streets run east and west, and are numbered north and south from Lincoln Way.
Main street is Fourth street.
All streets south of Lincoln Way are designated as S. 2nd. S. 3rd, S. 4th, etc.
All streets east of Duff are designated as E. 2nd, E. 3rd, E. 4th, etc. That part of Lincoln Way east of Duff is called E. Lincoln Way, and that part of Lincoln Way that runs north along the west side of the col- lege grounds is called Norh Lincoln Way.
The city is divided into four wards. The first and second wards are that part lying north of Main street. The third ward joins the first and second wards on the south and extends west as far as Squaw Creek. The fourth ward is that part of the city lying south and west of the college grounds.
The avenues of the first and second wards, beginning at the east side, are as follows: Crawford, Carroll, Duff, Douglas, Kellogg, Burnett, Clark, Wilson, Grand, Hodge, Northwestern, Park, Brookridge, and Orchard Drive.
Burnett avenue is the division line between the first and second wards. Beginning at the east side of the third ward, the avenues are as follows: south of Lincoln Way: Kingsbury, High, Summer. North of Lincoln Way: Born, Center, East, Des Moines, Duff, Sherman, Kellogg, Washington and Walnut; Des Moines branch of C. & N. W. R. R .; Grand, Elm, Oak, Maple, Hazel, Russell, and Riverside Drive.

The avenues of the fourth ward, south of the campus and beginning at the east side are: Beach, Ash, Lynn, Stanton, Welch, Haywood and Cham- berlain.
The streets of the fourth ward and south of the campus are: Lincoln Way, Knapp, Hunt, Baker, Donald, Little and Storm. Boone street runs west from the southwest corner of the campus. The streets south from Boone are Woodman and Leek.
West of the campus the avenues are North Lincoln Way, Hyland, Cam- pus, Howard, Wilmath and Forest Glen. The streets, beginning at the west gate, are: West, Woodland, Ellis and Oakland.
Lettie street is in Clark's addition outside the city.
Coral is in Brown's addition outside the city.
The streets and avenues of College Heights are: Gable Lane, Sunset Drive, Greeley street, Gray avenue, Cessna street, Graeber street and Coun- try Club boulevard.
PUBLIC BUILDINGS AND THEIR LOCATIONS
Municipal building on the southeast corner of Kellogg avenue and Fifth street.
Post office on the southwest corner of Kellogg avenue and Fifth street. City Library on the southwest corner of Douglas avenue and Sixth street.
High School between Fifth and Sixth streets on the east side of Clark avenue.
Central Grade School between Fifth and Sixth streets on the west side of Clark avenue.
Beardshear School on the north side of Ninth street at the intersection of Carroll avenue and Ninth street, in the first ward.
Lincoln School on the northeast corner of South Second street and South Kellogg avenue, in the third ward.
Welch School on the east side of S. Hyland avenue, in the fourth ward. The Mary Greeley hospital on the southeast corner of Douglas avenue and Twelfth street.
The Methodist church at the southeast corner of Sixth street and Kel- logg avenue.
The Congregational church on the norheast corner of Sixth street and Kellogg avenue.
The Christian church on the northeast corner of Fifth street and Bur- nett avenue.
The Baptist church on the northeast corner of Fifth street and Kellogg avenue.
The Episcopal church on the north side of Fifth street between Bur- nett and Clark avenues.
The United Brethren church on the corner of South Second street and Kellogg avenue.
The Catholic church on the corner of Oak avenue and Lincoln Way.
The Lutheran church on the corner of Oak avenue and Second street.

The electric light and water plant is located at the east end of Main street.
