T HE HAWKEYE insures property against fire, lightning and tornadoes, and has done more business, paid more losses and has a larger surplus over all liabilities than any other lowa company. It is purely a home institution, confining its business to lowa alone. As to its standing among lowa people, we refer to the above showing, which speaks for itself.
Patronize Home Institutions and Industries .is the watchword. Don't ,send your money out of the State when you can get a policy in one of the best Com- panies, Home or Foreign, by patronizing the HAWKEYE INSURANCE CO. of Des Moines, Iowa. (OVER)*

TO INSURANCE AGENTS.
GENTLEMEN: ( Des Moines Are As caron. operated on the "Rawson System" of life insurance. i. B . HIGH BALL compra of a LOW BALL company, but an organ ization whose premuta, de bood n INSURANCE LAPERIENCE and are SUFFICIENT, but not I CHORBLANT. A oding to the -wendt de ment of the old fine companies to the New You s Insurance Department for the part the's vers, we are selecting just a little more 1 mo ey to pay DEATH BONNES with than they do, but not nearly as much for EXPENSE and res ve. Thus vous ! see that, by basing of mortuary collection on this experience; we are ABSOLUTELY SALE at les ther ON -HAUT the Late. haged by old-line companies. We no ! not tell you that et agent's VALUE is meneted by his ABILITY TO COLLECT PREM- ICMS, or that it is mus is easier to collect a prenantum of SE for a scopo policy in our company than it is for a frase palas in an old line comp an this is why agents say that the DES MOINES LIFE ASSOCIATION NA BONANZA LE them. The insured, for the same premium, gets more than TWICH the INSURANCE think she! by the old-line companies, and insurance that is ABSOLUTELY - All, and set the comme on to about the same We write as many lowa people in a month isany old line lower company writes in a fear. We are doing busi- ness in sixteen different states and before the close of 1895 will be in at least twenty states

Read 1. THE FOLLOWING CAREFULLY.
ABSOLUTELY SAFE -READ CARE- FULLY.
WE wish to explain why the Des Moines Life As- I sociation is absolutely safe for all time to come the money paid in by the people for insur- lance is divided into three different funds, vix:
Mortuary,
Reserve,

Expense.
COST OF OLD MEINE INSURANCE AT AGE 40 for $1.600,
Morthary &
$ 9 82

$3F.50
COST OF DES MOINES LIFE AT AGE 40 FOR $1,000.
Mortuary
$10 40

2 40
Expense.
3 00 -$16.00
You can see from the above that we collect more o pay our death losses than; do ,the old-line or legal reserve companies, but not nearly so much for reserve and expenses. The president of many fold-Line companies draws a salary of $59,000, per summum (the same as the President of the United States), a few of them get $65,000, while our presi- defit simply gets pay for the time he puts in, and must be paid from the $3.00 td. $1,000, as well as all the rest of the expenses of the company.
BUSINESS MEN ASK FOR OUR, . INSURANCE.
Several of our Des Moines men, during the past year, have either called at our office or asked us to call on them and write their applications for a policy, which has been very gratifying indeed. None has been more 'so than a man whose name is familiar not only to insurance men but to the masses of people of the great state of Iowa! : We Irefer to Adam Howell, president of the Hawkeye Fire Insurance Company of this city. Not fong since, Mr. Howell said, as we were dining together, "Why don't you call and write me a policy in your company?" at the same time saying that he had heard a great many good things said about the B, - Ny L. A., and felt that we were worthy of the 'sup; pott of our home people, as we were building; up a Western institution that was a credit to our city and State. We appreciate the confidence thus placed in the/2, M. L. A. by a man that stands.on, " the top round of insurance and at the head of a company that beeds no introduction to the people, of lowa. Wefeel that we have added to our mem -! bership a valuable name, one that will carry weight. with it. At the same time we have increased Mr. Howell's estate just $2,000.

We wish to impress it on your mind that the above assets all belong to our policy holders. No stock- holders to absorb the savings. On the other hand at the end of each tenth policy year; this fund is equally divided among the policy holders who have kept their policies in force for ten full years, giving them their choice either in cash or paid up insurance.
TEN REASONS.
WHY The Leading Life Insurance Agents prefer to represent this company.
WHY INSURE WITH US.
First .- Because we write pure Life Insurance with- out any'side issues.
Second-Because we pay our death losses promptly and in full.
Third -Because we do the leading business in lowa, old line or new.
Fourth -Because we pay our agents a cash com- mission on the fi teenth of each month.
Fifth -- Because we have no membership fee making our plan much more desirable. I
Sixth-Because our payments are fixed, doing away with post-mortem or pass-the-hat as-essments.
Seventh. Because we always have money to pay death losse, promptly, and to loan out on Iowa farms. Elghth. -- Because in case a policy-holder g. ts totally disabled he can draw one-half of the benefit while living.
i Ninth -- Becaus . we write the Joint Policy on man and wife, or any two relatives, with the full amount payable to one that lives the longest. The best, as Noab said when he invited him into the ,rk, "come in pairs."
. Tently -And because our dividend, at the end of en years, will equally divide the accumulations be- w een every policy holder that has kept his policy paid up for ten years. If they have paid one dollar too much it will be returned to them with interest, mak- ing the cheapest insurance obtainable.
