Lofted States Court of the South- ern : District of lowa-The United States is divided into nine judicial circuits, in each of which a circuit court is held for each district within cach circuit. The act of congress ap- prosed April 10, 1869, provides vas fol- low's "The circuit court .p teach cir- cuit shall be held by the just ce of the supreme court allotted to the air | chit for by the district judge of the district sitting aldne, of by the Jus tice of the supreme court and circuit judgy sitting together, in which case the justice of the supreme court shall preside, or in the absence of either of them, by the other ( who shall pre- sidel and the district judge.


The state of Iowa is divided into two judicial courts. The courts for the southern district are held in dis- trict court rooms U. S. government building at Des Moines second Tues- day In May, and third Tuesday in No- vemben. At Council Bluffs, second Tuesday in March and third Tuesday in September. At Keokuk second Tuesday in April and third Tuesday in October. " At Creston fourth Tues- day in March and the third Tuesday in October. Both districts are attached to the Eighth judicial circuit. which comprises the states of Minnesota, North and South Dakota, Nebraska, Iowa. Missouri, Colorado, Arkansas' . and Kansas.
