DIRECTIONS FOR GIVING AN


ALARM OF FIRE.


1. To give an alarm. . go to the nearest box, break glass, turn key. open the door, pull the hook to the bottom-of the slot once and let go; leave door open.


2. Do not pull the hook if the fire bells or small bell in the box is strik- ing, as that indicates that an alarm has already been given.


RATES OF FARE. AUTHORIZED BY CITY - ORDINANCES RELATIVE TO PUBLIC CARRIAGES, ETC.


Section 12. That the owner or driv. -- er of any omnibus, carriage, cab, her- dic. or other vehicle licensed under . this chapter, shall be entitled to de- mand and receive not to exceed twenty- five cents (25c) for each passenger con- voyed any distance not exceeding ana mile.

For each passenger over-one mile: and under two miles. fifty- cents (50c). For each passenger with trunk. one mile and under "two miles, seventy- five cents (75c). Each additional pas- senger of the same party. twenty-five cents (25c). Provided - that. sixteen blocks shall constitute one mile. And they shall be entitled to add to the above rate between the hours of 12 O'clock at night and 6 a. m., twenty- .five cents for each passenger. And are entitled to charge when employed by the hour, one and 50-100 dollars ($1.50) . for thefirst hour. and for each ad- ditional hour one dollar ($1): and
