COURTS.
United States Court of the South- ern District of Iowa-The United States is divided into nine judicial circuits, in each of which a circuit court is held for each district within each circuit. The act of congress ap- proved April 10, 1869, provides as fol- lows: "The circuit court in each cir-
cuit shall be held by the justice of the supreme court allotted- to the circuit, or by the district judge of the district sitting alone, or by the justice of the supreme court and circuit judge sit- ting together, in which case the jus- tice of the supreme court shall pre- side. or in the absence of either of them, by the other ( who shall preside) and the district_judge. -
The state of Iowa is divided into two judicial districts. The courts for the southern district are held in dis- trict court rooms U.
