JOHNSON COUNTY FARM DIRECTORY

In securing the names of the farmers, their post offices, the section upon which the home is located and the telephone exchange, as officers of the John- son County Farm Bureau, we wish to thank the school co-operators for their help and all others that rendered their assistance.

This being the first attempt to publish such a di- rectory. We made more mistakes than we will af- ter having this experience. We will ask the public to pardon any mistakes or omissions in this Direc- tory. We know that F. W. Hess has been an untiring worker in compiling the material here assembled and much praise is due him.

We ask you to refer to the advertisements on these pages and to give them your patronage. Trusting that you will find this Directory so useful and interesting that you will encourage and support the publishers, advertisers, and Farm Bureau Of- ficers to isssue many more copies of a similar na- ture. We present you this copy.

E. H. HALL, County Agent.

THE JUNISUN CUUNI I

Every year seems to produce some new pest or disease to prey upon plant and animal life. The weather is always unfavorable during part of the season to some crops. New advertisements of won- derful labor saving machinery and machinery that will by its use produce much larger yields, come out in the press at various intervals. "Ignorance of the Law" does not excuse anyone from obeying it. Agents are continually picturing gilt edged propositions to farmers. Men are gambling on the labor of the farmer, and speculate on the harvests produced by him and his family.

There is an Organization that has grown by leaps and bounds the past few years. It is nation wide. Meetings are being held in your Township. Do you feel the spirit of this movement? It is a spirit of patriotism and farm fellowship.

The Farm Bureau is organized to benefit every farmer. It helps by teaching the most economical methods to use in crop production and in animal husbandry. The plants and animals feed and clothe the world. "Agriculture is the foundation of all industry". The drudgery and extreme long hours can be eliminated by all farmers joining and sticking to the Farm Bureau.

The Officers of this Organization realize how extremely important it is, that we have in Johnson County, men producing pure bred stock and high producing seed of all kinds of plants. We need these men to supply seed and breeding stock, not only in our county but to other counties and to other states. Johnson County now has a strong list of such men, (See their Ads in this Directory), but we need more and if all farmers in Johnson County enroll and attend their Township Meetings of the Bureau, farming will become more of a pleasure. The profits will be surer. There are no secrets to the Farm Bureau Work. The Officers invite you to attend and take part in all meetings. Let us stand united in the Farm Bureau Organization. Ask your neighbor to come to the meetings and join the Organization. OFFICERS OF THE FARM BUREAU
