Winchester Quarterly Meeting.
Winchester Quarterly Meeting of Friends was organized 7th month, 25th, 1874, in the City Hall, Winchester, Indiana, by a division of New Garden Quarterly Meeting, and was com- posed of all the meetings of that Quarter lying in Randolph County, except Arba.
The second session was also held in the City Hall, after which the sessions were held in the Quarterly Meeting House, which was built on the south-west corner of Washington and East streets, in which the meetings were held for twenty-three years.
A new and modern structure has been erect- ed on the same site. The Quarterly and other meetings were again held in the City Hall dur- ing its construction.
The new Quarter originally consisted of three monthly meetings, each composed of two Preparatives, viz .:
Cherry Grove Monthly Meeting, with Cherry Grove and Lynn Preparatives.
White River Monthly Meeting, with White River and Jericho Preparatives.
And Poplar Run Monthly Meeting, with Pop- lar Run and Cedar Preparatives.
And having a membership of 1,394.
It is now composed of eight Monthly Meet- ings and twenty-seven Local Meetings, with a membership of 4,053 this year.

A Meeting for Worship held for a short time at Balbec had been previously discontinued and the members attached to West Pleasant Valley. A new and commodious house being built at Winona, all united to form one congregation.

Was organized at Brushwood school house, two and one-half miles west of Geneva, at the same time and called West Grove, but owing to the fewness of the membership and the nearness to White Oak Meeting it was soon after dis- continued and the members joined to the White Oak.
NOTE-Evening services given above at 6:30, 7:30 and 8:00 are held one-half hour earlier in winter.
