INTRODUCTORY.
The publisher believes that the volume of the NEW ALBANY DIRECTORY for 1877 and 1878, embodies the results of the most careful canvass yet made for directory purposes. The compilation of names has been careful and systematic.
The publisher does not claim for his work an absolute freedom from errors or omissions, but he has guarded against them to the best of his ability, by taking every precaution possible and believes that the work will give general satisfaction.
The directory contains 5,735 names, multiplying it by four the lowest multiple used by any publisher in the United States,
we have a population of 22,940, say in round numbers 23,000. C. K. CARON.
