FIRST WARD-Shall consist of all that part of the territory of the city of Evansville situated within the following boundary lines, to-wit : Beginning on the Ohio River at the foot of Oak street, and extending thence along Oak street to Eighth street; thence along Eighth street to Canal street; thence along Canal street and the line of the Wabash and Erie Canal to the Eastern line of the north-west quarter of Section 29, Township 6, South Range 10 West (which is the present eastern boundary line of the city); thence south along the said eastern line of the said north-west and south-west quarters of said Section 29, township and range aforesaid, to the south-east corner of the aforesaid south-west quarter of said Section 29; thence continuing south to the south-east corner of the north-west quarter of Section 32, township and range aforesaid; thence west along the south line of said north-west quarter of said Section 32 aforcsaid, to the south-west corner of the north-west quarter of Section 32 aforesaid; thence north along the west line of said Section 32 to the south line of Ewing's Addition; thence west along the south line of Ewing's Addition to the "Bee Slough," in a north-westerly direction, to the Ohio River, and from thence along the Ohio River to the place of beginning.

THIRD WARD-Shall consist of all that part of the territory of said eity of Evansville situate within the following boundary lines, to-wit : Beginning on the Ohio River at the foot of Sycamore street; thence along Sycamore street to Eighth street; thence along Eighth street to Ann street; thenee along Ann street to First Avenue; thence along First Avenue to Fourth street; thence along Fourth street to Fulton Avenue; thence along Fulton Avenue to the Ohio River, and thence by the Ohio River to the place of beginning.


FOURTH WARD-Shall consist of all that part of the territory of the city of Evansville situate within the following boundary lines, to- wit : Beginning on the Ohio River at the foot of Fulton Avenue, and extending thence along Fulton Avenue to the north line of Section 19, Township 6, South Range 10 West; thence west along the north side of said Section 19 to the range line between Ranges 10 and 11 West; thence north along said range line to the north line of Section 24, Township 6, South Range 11 West; thenee west along the north line of said Section 24 to Pigeon Creek; thence southwardly along Pigeon Creek to Columbia street; thence west along Columbia street to the line between Pigeon and Perry Townships (which is the western bonndary line of the city); thence south along said line between Pigeon and Perry Townships to the Ohio River; thence upwards along the Ohio River to the place of beginning.


FIFTH WARD-Shall consist of all that part of the territory of the city of Evansville situate within the following boundary lines, to-wit : Beginning at the intersection of Fulton Avenue and Pennsylvania street

RULES OF WATER WORKS :


All persons making application for water, or to be transferred, and all desiring to pay water rent in the office, will bring the number of their hydrants.


Hydrants are to be kept in good repair by the owners or occupant.


In all cases where the person desires a return of rent the water re- ceipts must be returned to the office.


The following abuses, viz: first, permitting the use of water for any other purpose than that named in the bill; second, sprinkling the streets with hose, except by special permit; third, permitting leaks or other de- fects in hydrants or other fixtures; fourth, permitting water to run un- necessarily, will be followed by the stoppage of water from hydrants and the infliction of the penalties prescribed by ordinance.


No person is permitted, without the consent of the proper officer or persop, to turn any private or public stop cock.


Upon a return of a bill to the office for non-payment, the water shall be immediately shut off, and where there is a cistern on the premises it shall not be turned on again until the bill due when turned off is paid; and when there is no cistern the water shall not be turned on again until the amount due up to the time the water was turned off is paid; and where the ferule is drawn, additional will be charged for re-setting the ferule.


In all cases where water is turned off on account of any abuse or violation of the rules, the owner or occupant of such premises shall pay fifty cents for turning the water off and on.
