AND the reason for it being is apparent to all those who travel between the East and the West. Its trains run solid from Indian- apolis to St. Louis, and the service is con- ceded to be unequaled. Comfortable day coaches that are kept tidy and clean, hand- some and elegantly furnished parlor cars with easy sofa chairs go to make the trip from In- dianapolis to St. Louis a pleasure rather than a hardship. Pullman Sleeping Cars are run on day and night trains ; a local sleeper is also run for the convenience of local travel between Indianapolis and St. Louis, and pas- sengers can get into the car at or near the Union Station any time after 8: 30 P. M., and will not be disturbed until St. Louis is reached at 7: 00 A. M. Rates are always as low as by less important routes.

THINGS TO BE SEEN.
Do you want to see one of the finest agricultural regions that this country can produce ?
Do you want to see the marvelous natural gas and oil wells in Ohio and Indiana gushing forth their pro- duct in sufficient quantities to not only illuminate and heat a score of metropolitan cities, but to generate power enough for innumerable mills and factories ?
Do you want to see Findlay, Lima, Celina, Port- land, Noblesville, Kokomo and many other cities and towns possessing these wells, teeming with healthy and prosperous advance and affording the merchant, the manufacturer, the speculator and the sight-seer abundant facilities for their respective vo- cations ?
Of course you do, and your wishes can be gratified by taking a trip over the Lake Erie and Western Railroad-" Natural Gas Route "-which passes all the above specified attractions. Solid trains equipped with through coaches, elegant reclining chair cars and combination sleeping and parlor cars, run over its line daily, between Sandusky, O., and Peoria, Ill. ; solid trains also run over its line between Indianapo- lis and Michigan City, with connection for Toledo and Detroit. Close connections to and from all points. Bear this in mind when ready to start.

A GREAT RAILWAY.,
THE
CHICAGO, MILWAUKEE & ST. PAUL
RAILWAY COMPANY
Now Owns and Operates Over 5,600 Miles of Thoroughly Equipped Road in ILLINOIS, WISCONSIN,
MINNESOTA, IOWA,
MISSOURI and DAKOTA.
Each recurring year its lines are extended in all directions to meet the necessities of the rapidly populating sections of country West, Northwest and Southwest of Chicago, and to furnish a market for the products of the Greatest Agricultural and Stock Raising Districts of the World.
In Illinois it operates 317 Miles of Track, in Wisconsin 1,332 Miles, in lowa 1,556 Miles, in Minnesota 1,122 Miles, in Dakota 1,213 Miles, in Missouri 142 Miles.
And the end is not yet. It has terminals in such large cities as
Chicago, Milwaukee, La Crosse, St. Paul, Minneapolis, Fargo, Sioux City, Council Bluffs, Omaha, Kansas City and St. Joseph, Mo.,
And along its lines are hundreds of large and small thriving cities, towns and vil- lages. Manufacturing interests are cultivated, and all branches of trade find encour- agement. The Railway Company has a just appreciation of the value of its patrons, and its magnificent earnings are the result of the good business tact which character- izes the management of its affairs.
The popularity of the line is attested by the fact that notwithstanding the strong- est kind of competition of old and new lines, the CHICAGO, MILWAUKEE & ST. PAUL RAILWAY continues to carry the greater portion of all the business between CHICAGO, MILWAUKEE, ST. PAUL and MINNEAPOLIS ... Itis the best pat- ronized route to and from all points in WISCONSIN, MINNESOTA, DAKOTA and IOWA, and its KANSAS CITY AND ST. JOSEPH LINE will undoubtedly take equal rank with the older lines leading to and from the Southwest.
