PREFACE.
In presenting to the citizens of Warsaw our first volume of the "Warsaw City Directory" we take great pleasure in con- gratulating them on the apparent prosperity of the beautiful city of churches and lakes.
It will be found, from observation, that this volume contains 1782 names, which multiplied by three, which is a very small ratio, gives your city a population of 5346.
We have used great care and diligence in procuring our infor- mation, and we think the public will find this, our first volume, as correct and reliable as it is possible to get up a work of this kind.
We tender our thanks to the business and professional men of the city for their liberal patronage and we will make it our en- deavor in two years and a half to publish our second edition, also, we most heartily appreciate the courtesy and support that has been shown the publishers of this volume by the " Daily Times" and "Weekly Union" which have been of great assistance to us.
In closing this brief introduction of our first issue, we warn you to BEWARE of directory borrowers and thieves.
Very respectfully,
H. G. ZIMMERMAN & CO.
