RATES OF FARE. AS ESTABLISHED BY CITY ORDINANCES, REL- ATIVE TO PUBLIC CARRIAGES.


Section 7. The prices to be charged by the owner or driver of any vehicle, except an omnibus, for the convey- ance of passengers for hire, within said city, shall be as follows, to be regulated and estimated by the distance on the most direct routes, namely :


For conveying a passenger not exceeding one mile .. 50c For conveying a passenger any distance over a mile


and less than two miles. $1.00


For conveying children between five and fourteen years of age half the above prices may be charged for like distances, but for children under five years of age no charge shall be made, unless such child is the only passen- ger, in which case full charge may be made.


The distance from any railroad depot or hotel to any other railroad or hotel shall, in all cases, be estimated as not exceeding one mile.


For the use of coaches drawn by two horses with one or more passengers by the day. .$8.00


For the use of any vehicle by the hour with one or more passengers with the privilege of going from place to place, and stopping when required, as follows:

Every passenger shall be allowed to have conveyed up- on such vehicle without charge his ordinary traveling bag- gage not exceeding in any case one trunk.


Section 13 .- Any person who shall violate any or either of the provisions of this chapter or any section clause or provision of any section of this chapter or who shall fail or neglect to comply with any or either of the requirements thereof shall, upon conviction, pay a fine of not more than one hundred dollars.
