The following Report is here inserted according to the direction of the committee on Education in the 9th month 1857
The committee appointed to transcribe the minutes of the Committee on Education agree to report that we have examined them and find the minutes from 6 th month 1853 up to and including 8th month 1856 have been neglected some are obliterated and some are wholly last and we are of the opinion the in their present mutilated and detached form they will not make a record that would be inteligible or satisfactory to the present or future generations but so far as they can be deciphered they give evidence that the committee on Education have given proper attention to the subject and have had schools under their care at all of the school hauses a considerable portion of each year We are willing to propose that the minutes of the intervening time mentioned above be dismissed and that this report of something similar be inserted in their place. as an explanatory note which we submit to the commute 19 th hier 1857.
