NOT FOR IRA DAYS
BUT FOR
A Few of the Peculiar Merits of
Brown's Rotary Shuttle Sewing Machine
Are Briefly as Follows :
1st. Brown's Rotary Shuttle Sewing Machine is a double thread lock stitch shuttle machine.
2d. The shuttle is rotary in its motion. No dead points, no stopping and starting, and no twisting or untwisting the thread.
3d. When the machine is in the act of making or tightening the stitch, the two threads, i. e., the needle and shuttle threads, are in a straight line, and not at right angles with the cloth plate, which is the case in all other shuttle machines, and which creates an extra friction. Again, the peculiar operation of the machine enables it to make the stitch with less than half the power of any other shuttle machine.

ances, from 136 to 300 pieces, while Brown's Rotary contains about 64, and less joints than any other with four times the wearing surface at each joint, consequently many times as durable as any other.
5th. It lays the thread alike on both sides of the goods, and brings the lock in the center of work, be it thick or thin, every stitch being made the same length without re- gard to the speed of the machine.
6th. The shuttle moving mechan- ism will not wear out of time so as to skip stitches, which is a very pro- lific cause of stitch dropping in many other machines.
7th. ' The length of the stitch can be changed more readily than in any other machine.
8th. In most machines an accidental turning of the machine backwards results in breaking the needle or thread, or both, while Brown's Rotary can be run backward with impunity and without fear of breaking thread or needles, or in any way disarranging or injuring the machine in the least particular. No good reason can be assigned why a needle in this machine should not last for years.
9th. This machine has a device by which it can be changed for thick or thin goods by simply moving a lever which device is covered by patents, (as well as all the other points), which no other company has a right to use.
Finally. We claim for Brown's Botary Shuttle that it will do the best work on a wide range of material with half the power and less noise, and double the amount of work in a given time, greater durability, less liability to disarrangement than any other machine in the world. For the proof of all the above, we ask examination, trial, and any test desired. We believe there ie no defect in other sewing machines that is not obviated in this.
