PURDUE UNIVERSITY
S EPTEMBER, 1905, by the unanimous action of their respective Boards of Trustees, assem- bled in Indianapolis, The Medical College of Indiana, The College of Physicians and Surgeons, and the Ft. Wayne School of Medicine merged and became the Medical Department of Purdue Uni- versity, with the title of Indiana Medical College, The School of Medicine of Purdue University.
These three schools of medicine have given con- tinuous instruction in Indiana for many years. They have graduated over 2500 students, and the proper- ties of these colleges, worth $200,000, the student body of 360 students, the histories and traditions of the colleges are all now merged in and are now an integral part of Purdue University, the leading pro- fessional school of Indiana, and subject to its gov- erning body. For the first time in the history of medical education in Indiana, its medical colleges have formed a university union.
The College will remain permanently in Indian- apolis, a city representing the clinical material re- quired for a modern school of practical medicine.
This College will open its 37th session in September, 1906. A four years' graded course , sessions of eight months each. Well-equipped laboratories in all departments. Practical laboratory work under special instructors in Anatomy. Physiology, Chemistry, Histology. Pathology, Bacteriology. Excellent clinical advantages. Free dispensary in college building at which 15,000 patients are treated annually. Clinics at City Hospital St. Vin- cent's Infirmary and Central Hospital for Insane. Bedside instruction. Obstetric service at Maternity Hospital. Every opportunity is afforded for the study of general and special branches of medicine and surgery.
