REWARD FOR SERVICE Luke 16:13 Rom. 12:1.

Beautiful are youth's sweet flowers, If one cultivates them well; They will be our greatest treasures, None of which we'll care to sell.

It will be our greatest pleasure, When we've grown old and gray; Just to glance at them at leisure, If we've fought and won the day.

If you have become disheartened, And have almost lost your way. Let at once your hope be strengthened, And enlist with God today.

Your reward is life eternal, Will you stand and look aghast At your many sins internal, Till your present life is past?

Better quit yourself a soldier, Don God's armor with delight; What did Christ deem holier Than to quit himself and fight?

E. R. Drabenstott.

WAITING

Long years we have been waiting, Since first we heard the cry, "Behold Messiah cometh , Redemption draweth nigh". Long years of pain and trial, Long years of hope deferred, But still, though faint and weary, We've trusted in His word.

We've watched the signs that tell us The Lord will soon appear, Plainly as budding fig tree, Foretells the summer near; We've seen the scoffer walking In unbelief and pride, And heard from lips unholy The Word of God denied .

Now wrong and evil triumph, And make their lofty boast, While right and truth and justice,

Are trampled in the dust; We've reached the days of peril, By holy ones foretold, When men have turned to bables, And faith and love grow cold.

Long years we have been waiting And still we wait in hope, While men in blindness grope; Still shines the word prophetic, A light upon our way, To warn us of its dangers, And guide us to the day.

Long years we have been waiting, And we will wait until Messiah reigns in glory, Enthroned on Zion's hill; We'll watch the signs around us, With truth our hearts we'll gird, And while we walk in peril We'll trust His Holy Word.

HISTORY CHURCH OF GOD OF THE ABRAHAMIC FAITH Roll, Indiana

From a copy of the RESTITUTION af March 24, 1875, it was reported by D. T. Halstead that a visit to Dundee, Blackford County, Indiana had revealed that a new church had been organized.

"The church is young -- organized last year -- but is thoroughly olive, having a zeal ac- cording to knowledge. Their influence is felt throughout the entire community. Their Elder, Brother Roby, is of good report, within and without the congregation, intelligently informed, rapidly grawing in knowledge, and withal, quite an effective speaker. "

The Church was founded on the principals af Faith and Practice. From an earlier record we read the following:

Dundee, Blackford Caunty, Indiana

December 6, 1873

We whose names are here annexed, having believed the things concerning The Kingdam of God, and the name of Jesus Christ, in order the mare effectualy to serve Him, hereby organize ourselves into a body to be known as The Church af Gad at Dundee, Blackford County, Indiana, and agree that we will assist each other in our mutual watch care, and by a Godly conversation, and an upright walk, acknowledging God's ward as our only rule af, Faith and Practice.

The foregoing being unanimously adapted, We then selected the officers. The name of Bro. Nathaniel Roby was proposed being the chaice of his Brethren, he was appointed Elder of the Church of God at Dundee. Bro. Wm. Frazier and Wm. Swain were appointed Deacans of the same organization, this December 6, 1873.

Names af members of Church of God:

Nathanie! Roby, Mary E. Raby, Wm. Frazier, hatie Frazier, Wm. Swain, Rebecca Swain, John T. Brathertan, Abie Brothertan, Ira Vernan, Emily Vernon, Samuel Mincer, Elmira Mincer, George Mincer.

Thus was the foundation laid to carry the Truth forward. Life maved at a slower pace in those days and the labors af the dedicated men and women were rewarded in a graup af believers who held fast to the Gaspel that was preached amang them.

Their meetings were held at the Bailey Schaal House, two miles west and ane mile narth of the Courthause in Hartford City. At other times, services were held in barns or ather buildings large enaug !: to shelter those wha gathered ta hear the word of Gad preached.

The speakers travelled from one group ta the next, and through their efforts, many new members were brought into the church.

A wogan was the transportation used by William H. Harnaday, wha, with his wife and three children warked dilligently to further the cause. He became identified with the church previous ta December, 1873, when the eurliest accounts of his travels ta this region first appear.
