AMUSEMENT - PLACES OF.


Grand Opera House, located on Jackson street, near Sixth ave- nue, is owned by C. F. Kendall, and is one of the largest and hand- somest opera houses in the West, with a seating capacity of over 1,500.


Crawford's Topeka Opera House is situated on Kansas avenue, between Sixth avenue and Seventh street. It is handsomely furnished, and is a popular resort. Seating capacity about 1,200.


Lukens's Opera House is located in North Topeka, on Kansas avenue, between C and D streets. This house also offers versatile at- tractions throughout the theatrical season. Seating capacity, 600.


Library Hall, a large and handsomely-furnished auditorium in the Free Library building, located in the Capitol Square, is devoted principally to musical attractions and lecture entertainments. Seating capacity, about 500.


Music Hall, owned by Maj. J. K. Hudson, is located on East Eighth avenue, near Kansas avenue, and is specially leased for lec- tures, fairs and dancing parties. The seating capacity is about 500.


Turner Hall is owned by a German society, in which versatile amusements are given during the summer months. It is not gener- ally open to the public. It is located on First avenue, near Harrison street.

Arion Hall, on Kansas avenue, between Third and Fourth streets, is leased by the Arion Society for the rendition of concerts, etc. This hall is not open to the public.


Union Hall, located on Kansas avenue, between Sixth avenue and Seventh street, is set up with stage, and has a seating capacity for about 500, and is leased for concerts, lectures, sociables, etc.
