Jan 189.7 PREFACE. 41086
B.R. 19-4
HE fifth volume of the BLUE BOOK of Brookline, which we present to its citizens this year will, we believe, be recieved as well as its success heretofore has led us to anticipate, and prove of value to the recipients as a book of reference.
We wish to call the especial attention of its readers to the advertising pages, without which we should be unable to distribute the books free of cost to the residents of Brookline, and as only such advertisers as are known to be reliable in every way, have been allotted space in the book, we trust their announcements will be found of equal interest to the reader with the alternating pages of names.
Our experience has proved conclusively to us that the book is grow- ing in favor each year with the better class of residents of Boston's most charming suburb, and its value to the advertiser, as shown by the number who have availed themselves of the present issue, keeps pace with that growth.
Thanking our many friends for past and present favors, we remain,
Very truly,
EDWARD A. JONES.
