OAK GROVE FARM ARTIFICIAL ICE COMPANY.
The growing demand for Artificial Ice is due to its absolute purity and freedom from bacteria in any form.
Made from distilled water, it is perfectly safe for drink- ing and all domestic uses, and is highly recommended by Physicians and " Boards of Health " as being the only ice safe to use for all purposes, while it is a well-known fact that natural ice contains more or less deleterious matter from surface drainage and other sources, that renders it a positive menace to health.
Artificial Ice is supplied at the usual rates charged for the natural product, and housekeepers will find it more economical.
It does not TAINT the ice-chest or any food which comes in contact with it.

PREFACE.
In issuing Volume Ten in the series of Brookline Blue Books, we have every reason to believe they have filled an important place as a necessary book of reference in the many families that annually take it.
We reiterate what we announced a year ago-that we are glad to add to it any matter that will enhance its usefulness to our subscribers. In this number we have published lists of Clergymen and Physicians, in some cases giving the office hours of Physicians where their names appear in the street list.
Our map is enlarged this year to include all of Brighton district.
We return thanks to all who have aided us in the compilation of the book, as well as to our advertisers and subscribers for their orders.
Hoping to issue it promptly next season, and to keep pace with the steady growth of this, the ideal residential suburb of Boston, we remain
Respectfully EDWARD A. JONES.
