if any person having been thus admonished, shall persevere in that neglect for another year, without rendering satisfactory reasons for so doing, this church may, at its discretion, declare that such member hath broken his or her covenant with this church, and that the obligations of the church to watch over that member have ceased.
V .- There shall be a Committee of this church, consisting of four members chosen annually by ballot, who, with the Pastor, shall have the powers and perform the duties specified in the follow- ing articles.
Ist. It shall be the duty of this Committee to satisfy theni- . selves of the fitness or otherwise, of all persons applying for ad- mission to this church, and to propound or neglect to propound them accordingly.
2d. It shall be the duty of this Committee to acquaint them- selves with those uniting with this church, from time to time, and to introduce them as far as practicable, to the acquaintance of other members of this church.
3d. In all cases of offence, when the preliminary measures pre- scribed in the 1Sth of Matthew's Gospel shall have been taken, complaint may be made to this Committee, instead of the church, and it shall be the duty of the Committee to ascertain the facts in every such case which may come before them, and report to the church, (if on inquiry and investigation it may be deemed neces- sary,) both of the facts, and the measures proper, in their opinion, to be pursued.
4th. It shall be the duty of this Committee at the annual meet- ing succeeding that on which they receive their appointment, to make a report in writing, of the state and progress of religion in the church during the year, taking particular notice of the various contributions and donations in the congregation, for objects of christian benevolence,-and also exhibiting the operation and success of the Sabbath School, and other means for the religious education of our children and youth.

relation, although more than two years have elapsed,-and also the names of such as shall have been at that time stated commu- nicants in this church for more than a year, without offering them- selves to become its members. It shall also be his duty as Treas- urer, to report at the annual meeting an account of the sums re- ceived into the Treasury and the sums paid for the expenses of the church and the relief of poor members.
VII .- There shall be a meeting of this church for the transaction of business, the Friday preceding the first Sabbath of every other month, and that held on the Friday preceding the first Sabbath in June shall be regarded as the annual meeting.

CONFESSION OF FAITH.
ARTICLE I .- We believe that there is one God, the creator and rightful disposer of all things-existing as Father, Son, and Holy Ghost, and that to these three persons, as the one God, all divine persections are to be equally ascribed.
ART. II .- We believe that the Bible was given by inspiration of God, as the only unerring rule of faith and practice.
ART. III .- We believe that mankind are fallen from their orig- inal rectitude, and are, while in a state of nature, wholly destitute of that holiness which is required by the divine law.
ART. IV .- We believe that Jesus Christ, the Eternal Word, became man, and by his obedience, sufferings and death, made an atonement for the sins of the world.
ART. V .- We believe that they and they only will be saved, in consequence of the merits of Christ, who repent of sin and be- lieve in him.
ART. VI .- We believe that although the invitations of the gospel are such, that all, who will, may come and take of the water of life freely, yet the wickedness of the human heart is such, thit none will come, unless drawn by the special influences of the Holy Spirit.
ART. VII -We believe that the Sacraments of the New Testa- ment :r., B p ism and the Lord's Supper; Baptism to be ad- ministered only to believers and their households; and the Sup- per only to believers in regular church standing.
ART. VIII .- We believe that God has appointed a day in which he will judge the world ; when there will be a resurrection of the dend, and the righteous will enter on eternal happiness, and the wicked will be sentenced to eternal misery.
THE COVENANT.
-
You do now, in the presence of God and men, choose the Lord Jehovah to be your God and Father, the Lord Jesus Christ to be your only Savior-the Holy Spirit to be your Sanctifier. You dedicate yourself to God, unreservedly surrendering all that you have and are to his sovereign disposal, engaging by his assistance to live henceforth to him, and not to yourself, and to aim, what- ever you do, to do all to his glory. You cordially join yourself to this Church, and engage to be subject to its discipline, so far as it is conformable to the gospel, and to walk with the members thereof in love, watchfulness and purity.
I, then, in the presence of God and these witnesses, and in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, pronounce you a member of this branch of his visible Church, and we engage to treat you as such ; to watch over you in love; praying that we all may become more and more conformed to the example of our Divine Master, till we come to the perfection of holiness, in the kingdom of his glory.

CONFESSION OF FAITH.
You now appear in the presence of Christ and His people to profess your Christian faith.
We trust that you understand the nature of this act-that you are prepared for it by hearty sympathy with the spirit of your Master.
To meet the obligations you now assume, you will need humil- ity, sincerity, reverence and decision.
You utter your vows at Christ's bidding. His grace shall be sufficient for you. Clinging to Him with a faithful affection, you will always rejoice that you have been brought to this hour.
Acknowledging the unity of the Church of Christ, and seeking fellowship with all who love Him in sincerity and truth, we con- fess our belief in one God, infinite in power, wisdom and love.
We believe that He is revealed to us as God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Ghost, each exercising the attributes of Divinity.
We believe that all mankind is prone to sin, that every one capable of choosing between good and evil becomes sinful before God.
We believe " that God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life."
We believe that all truth is made effectual by the power of the
7
CONFESSION OF FAITH.
Holy Spirit ; that by His gracious influence men are convinced of their sin, led to repentance, renewed and sanctified.
We believe in an organized and visible Church, in the ministry of the Word, in the sacraments of Baptism and the Lord's Supper, in the resurrection of the dead, in the final judgment, when "the wicked shall go away into everlasting punishment, and the right- eous into life eternal."
We accept these truths as revealed in the Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments, which, as inspired by God, we believe to be the only authoritative record of His will.
In assenting to this as your declaration of belief, do you prom- ise to be faithful in Christian labor, and to co-operate with all who hold " one Lord, one Faith, one Baptism," in declaring the Gospel of Peace to every creature.
( Here the assent of candidates for admission shall be given.)
May He, to whom all power is given in Heaven and earth, fulfill the promise which is all our hope : "Lo, I am with you alway, even to the end of the world."
( Here the rite of baptism shall be administered. )
THE COVENANT.
[Church rising.] You do now, in the presence of God and men, choose the Lord Jehovah to be your God and Father, the Lord Jesus Christ to be your only Saviour, the Holy Spirit to be your sanctifier. You dedicate yourself to God, unreservedly sur- rendering all that you have and are to ITis sovereign disposal, en- gaging by His assistance to live henceforth to Him, and not to yourself, and to aim, whatever you do, to do all to His glory. You cordially join yourself to this Church, and engage to be subject to its discipline, go far as it is conformable to the gospel, and to walk with the members thereof in love, watchfulness and purity.
I, then, in the presence of God and these witnesses, and in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, pronounce you a member of this branch of His visible Church ; and we engage to treat you as such ; to watch over you in love ; praying that we all may be- come more and more conformed to the example of our Divine Master, till we come to the perfection of holiness, in the kingdom of His glory.
"The Lord bless thee and keep thee. The Lord make His face to shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee. The Lord lift up His countenance upon thee and give thee peace." Amen.
