SALEM LEAD COMPANY, OF SALEM, MASS.,
MANUFACTURERS OF THE BEST
1774515
PURE WHITE
LEAD
Ever made in this country.
Their Mills are under the superintendence of Mr. D. G. BATCHELDER, whose reputation as a Lead Manufacturer has long since been well established throughout New England and New York, and his White Lead stands unrivalled in this country.
The Salem Lead Company's Lead can be found for sale by most of the first- class Drug, Paint or Hardware dealers throughout New England, and by many in New York, Pennsylvania, and also in the Southern States.
Jis uniform Purity and brilliant Whitences are fully appreciated wherever it is used, and these qualities in an eminent degree are achieu- ing for it a success and demand hitherto unprecedented in the Paint trade.
This White Lead, owing to the great care used in the selection of the material from which it is made, and also in the grinding of the same, is said to wear longer and hand- somer, and to present a harder surface to the action of the weather, than most of the Leads now in use.
Its perfect Purity is warranted in all cases,
LEAD PIPE
Of any size or thickness required, made from the very best Pig Lead. and warranted satisfactory.
Although we intend to fill all orders for White Lead and Lead Pipe promptly, we have sometimes found, in the early Spring and Fall, that it was impossible to keep a stock, on hand, so large was the demand. Our patrons are therefore requested to send their or- ders early, or before they are entirely out, to avoid inconvenience or delay in the deliverance of the same.

AIR
Ten Sizes.
Patented in the United States, England and France.
The high reputation this furnace has acquired, in the use of more than twenty thousand, places it pre-eminently ahead of any other known plan for thoroughly and economi- cally warming buildings. The euts of the brick or portable furnaces will show at a glance to any intelligent mind the won- derful heating powers, - a eluster of tapering Radi- ators standing directly over the fire, must have over any other form of heating surface, and which is so constructed as to be perfectly gas and smoke tight. Any one in want of a furnace should not fail of thoroughly examining this furnace.
Special attention given to putting up Furnaces and Ranges, and the ventilation of buildings in every part of the country.

MUTUAL LIFE INSURANCE CO. Office, Sears Building, Washington, Cor. Court St., BOSTON. Organized in 1862, and having assets amounting to $2,500,000.
The " John Hancock " is a Massachusetts company. and strictly mutual.
Its policy holders are protected by the laws of this Commonwealth, and especially by the noted Non-Forfeiture Luar, under which a life policy, age 30, nyou which one aunbal payment only has been made, is continued in force for 329 days from the date at which the second premium became due but was unpaid ; the same policy, with four annual payments made, is continued in force for three years and 259 days from the date at which the fifth annual payment became due but was unpaid, the company being of course entitled to the torborne or anpaid preminms.
These two examples abundantly prove the importance and value of this beneficent law of Mas- eachnsetts.
The young merchant, whose life was insured in companies chartered by other States, who unfortunately was rained by the great fire in this city, in view of his inability to pay his premiun when due, very naturally exclaimed. "I wish I was insured in the John Hancock."
Let those who contemplate effecting insurance npon their lives, profit by such experience, and secure the benefits conferred by a HOME COMPANT.
