INTRODUCTORY.

THE Ninth Volume of the Gloucester Directory contains some improvements ver former issues, to which we call the attention of our patrons.

It will be noticed from the statement below that there has been a large ncrease in names (737) within the past two years, and the addition of over 2000 ew names shows a favorable growth of the city. The Street Directory has been horoughly overhauled and re-arranged in a convenient form for reference, and he re-numbering of some of the principal streets renders the new Directory ndispensable to the public.

A complete Business Directory of Rockport is also given. Much other valuable nformation of a miscellaneous character has been added, increasing the book over hirty pages. To those who have encouraged us by their patronage in advertising und subscriptions, we return our thanks.
