PREFACE.
In 1898 weissued the Gloucester Directory, and for the first time included Rockport and Essex. The information for the issue of 1900 has been collected with great care, so as to have the work accurate. Over four thousand changes have been made, including changes in business, residences, deaths, removals and now residents.
We would respectfully inform the public that we are in the field to stay, and shall continue to publish the directory as often as required. A new feature in this edition are the diagrams of the principal Boston theaters, trusting it will be be valuable to the theater-going public.
Thanking the business men of Gloucester and Rockport for their kind support,
Respectfully,
F. H. RADFORD.
CAUTION.
Beware of frauds and unscrupulous publishers that try to get orders under false pretenses, and use questionable means to get advertisements and subscriptions. A good directory cannot be published at a cheap price.

GLOUCESTER STREET DIRECTORY.
Giving the location of each street, and showing which other streets and places run from it, or across it, with the number at which they intersect.
From this list the location of any number on a street can be easily ascer- tained ; as, for instance, wishing to know at what part of Middle street No. 65 is located, you look at Middle street and find that Centre street runs from 63, and Hancock street from 73, showing that 65 would come on the right, between Centre and Hancock streets.
