Genealogical Department:

I am enclosing a copy of my manuscrit giving the inscriptions from the grave stones in the old Town Hill cemetery in the town of Egremont in Berkshire County. The copying was done some four or five years ago, but I have just got around to typing them. They will make a good addition to the other in- scriptions from Sheffield which I sent you a few years ago. I am sending one other copy to the New England Pistoric Genealogical Society library in Boston, and keeping one copy myself.

As perhaps you know, this particular cemetery is no longer in use . It is on the hill where the original town hall of Feremont stood, atout two miles northwest of the present village of South , Egremont. There are no very old stones left there, but it does contain the grave of Caot. Robert Joyner, "the first Captain of the Town of Ørremont", and a number of people from early Methodist families of that region.

I did not put the manuscript in a binder, as I did not know how you would prefer to keep it.

Yours very sincerely,

Chrysler In. Kellogg
