ARTICLES OF FAITHI.
I. WE believe that there is one only, the living and true God-Father, Son and Holy Ghost-the Maker and Preserver of all things.
II. THAT the Scriptures of the Old and New Testament were given by inspiration of God: that they contain a complete and har- monious system of Divine truth, and are our only perfect rule of Doctrinal belief and re- ligious practice.
III. THAT God created man holy, and en- tered into a covenant of life with him, the condition of which was perfect obedience, but by voluntary transgression, man fell from that state wherein he was created, in consequence of which, his posterity became sinners, and are by nature utterly destitute of that holiness re- quired by the law of God.
IV. THAT God of His mere mercy sent His only begotten Son into the world, who, in our nature, has borne the curse of God's law, and brought in everlasting righteousness.
5
V. THAT all who truly believe in Christ are through His atonement and righteousness *justified from all their sins, and are kept by the power of Divine Grace through faith unto salvation.
VI. THAT the blessings of the Gospel are made free to all, and nothing prevents the sal- vation of the sinner except his own voluntary refusal to submit to the Lord Jesus Christ ; but, as all do refuse, no one can be saved with- out being regenerated by the Holy Spirit.
VII. THAT at the last day, the Lord Jesus Christ will descend from Heaven, raise the dead, and judge the world in righteousness, and that He will admit His Saints to the glory of His Kingdom, and punish the ungodly with everlasting destruction.
Do You cordially assent to these truths?
FORM OF COVENANT.
Iv the presence of God and this assembly, you do now seriously, deliberately and forever give up yourselves in faith and love and holy obedience to God, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost-accepting the Lord Jehovah to be your God: Jesus Christ to be your Prophet, Priest and King: the Holy Ghost to be your Sanctifier, Comforter and Guide. Although sensible of your weakness and guilt, and of your liability to error and sin, still you do sin- cerely desire, and by the aid of Divine grace, do promise to receive in love, the pure Doc- trines of the Gospel, to walk in the statutes and ordinances of the Lord blameless, and to do honor to your high and holy vocation, by a life of piety towards God and benevolence towards your fellow-men.
You do also cordially join yourselves to this church of Christ, engaging to submit to its discipline so far as conformable to the rules of the gospel, and solemnly covenanting as much as in you lies, to promote its peace, edifica- · tion and purity, and to walk with its members

in Christian love, faithfulness, circumspection, sobriety and meekness. This you promise and engage to do, with humble trust in the grace of God, and with an affecting belief that your vows are recorded on high, and will be reviewed in the day of final judgment. Thus you promise and engage.
We then, as a church, (all the members of the church here rise) do cordially receive you into our fellowship and communion, and give thanks to God, who we trust, has inclined your heart to fear His name. We promise to treat you with Christian affection, to watch over you with tenderness, and to offer our prayers to the great head of the church; to enable you , to fulfil the solemn covenant which you have now made. "The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make His face to shine upon you and be gracious unto you; the Lord lift up His countenance upon you and give you peace." And may God of His great mercy give us all grace to be faithful to Him, and faithful to each other while we live, that we may be admitted at last through the merits of Christ, to the everlasting fellowship of Saints and Angels in the presence of the Father and the Son, and Holy Ghost. AMEN.

9. It shall be the duty of the Standing Committee to inquire after all publie offences in this church which may come to their knowledge by complaint or otherwise. In all cases of private offence, after the course prescribed in Matthew, 18th chapter, shall have been pursued, com- plaint may be made to the church through the Committee, whose duty it shall be to ascertain the facts, and make to report of the same, and of the measures which in their opinion ought to be taken. By assigning these duties to the Committee, however, the church do not discharge in- dividual members from their obligation to watch over, admonish and reprove each other.
.
10. This church regards the selling and using of intoxi- cating drinks as a beverage, at the present day, as indica- tive of doubtful Christian character, and as injurious to the peace and prosperity of churches-and expect that those who unite with them will renounce such practices.
11. This church believes the Sabbath to be an institu- tion of Divine appointment, and that the observance of it is essential to the social, civil and religious interests of men, and its members are expected by example and influ- ence to persuade all persons to abstain from worldly busi- ness, traveling and amusement, and to attend the public worship of God on that day.
