We have added to the estimates of expense of schools, by request of School Committee ; and also to the repairs of high- ways, as the appropriation has been reduced for the last two years from what it was formerly. and we are of the opinion that this amount is not large for the necessities of that de- partment.

TYLER THAYER. GEO. H. MORSE. J. E. EVERETT. - Selectmen of Norwood.

NOTE .- The expenses attending the call of the Fire Department to East Walpole at the burning of the paper mill, were paid by the owners, Messrs. Bird & Hollingsworth, and consequently do not appear in the expenses of the department. This, with two alarms, were all the services required of the Fire Department the past year.
