This Company offers to the public all the real advantages that can be, with safety, conceded by any Company. It is firmly established, having been in successful opera- tion for the past twenty years. It has accumulated the large sum of
$4,250,0 DO. And its Assets are rapidly increasing. Its Annual Income exceeds $1,300,000. Its investments are confined by statute to those most solid and reliable.
IT IS PURELY MUTUAL.
There are no Stockholders to whom heavy dividends or excessive interest is paid, but all the surplus belongs entirely to the assured. It pays Dividends at the beginning of the second year, and annually thereafter, on the contribution plan.
It has paid out to living members over $900,000 in Dividends. Its disbursements to the families and relatives of deceased members have reached a still larger sum, or over $1,750,000. Its average rate of mortality has been very favorable. It is eco- nomical in expenses. Its rates of premium are as low as they can be with safety to the insured. No extra rate charged on the lives of females. It issues most liberal Policies, with but little restriction on travel. All the most popular kinds of Policies are issued. All its Policies are made NON-FORFEITABLE by law of the state, and no other state offers equal advantages in this respect.

MANUFACTORY AND GENERAL OFFICE, CORNER OF SPRING AND LYMAN STS., SPRINGFIELD, MASS.
T the present time there are about five hundred of these famous Machines in operation ; and after five years of trial, under all circum- stances of use, in summer and winter, they have proved themselves to be durable, perfectly safe, thoroughly reliable, and economical. They are splendidly adapted and are used for lighting Manufacturing property of every description, Hotels, Blocks of Buildings, Churches, Dwelling Houses-single or in groups, and in fact everywhere where coal gas can be used, either for illuminating or heating purposes. They have been adopted by the U. S. Government at the National Armory in this city, and at the Arsenals at Rock Island, Ill., and at Benicia, Cal. The large number of Machines in operation for so long a time, without a single failure or an accident to mar its record, is a guaranty to the purchaser that they have got no experiment to try, but that they may enjoy the luxury of a safe, cheap, and brilliant gas-light, through the medium of the SPRINGFIELD GAS MACHINE; being as confident and well assured of its successful operation as they would be of a well-known steam engine or boiler. Circulars giving full and complete information, mailed on application.
