THE ARLINGTON, CHILSON'S ENTIRELY NEW AND GREATLY IMPROVED PORTABLE RANGE, 1877.

I desire to call special attention of every housekeeper in want, or who ever expect to want a STRICTLY FIRST- CLASS RANGE, to the great improvements over my old pattern Range, in broiling, heating water, anti-clinker grate, nickel-plated trimmings, towel dryer, four extra shelves, and extra heavy, tine, smooth castings, of rich and beautiful design, no place for dirt, rust or grease to lodge to keep women scrubbing, but always a clean, surface. This beautiful range has no equal in this country. This will be proved on examination and trial.

INTRODUCTORY.

THE CAMBRIDGE DIRECTORY for 1878 has been prepared with the utmost care, and we feel confident it will give satisfaction to the large number of individuals who have occasion to refer to its pages.

The business men of Cambridge have always taken much interest to have the Directory issued in a manner creditable to themselves and the city, but since the de- pression in business the patronage has not kept pace with the expense of publishing, therefore we are compelled to remind many of the business men of Cambridge, who have not patronized us, that in order to keep up the standard of the Directory, they must favor us with their cards for insertion in our pages.

A new map of Cambridge, with each ward beautifully colored, has been prepared for the Directory this year at considerable expense, and we hope our patrons will ap- preciate our endeavors to please them in this respect. Single copies of the map can be found on sale, in covers for pocket use, at C. W. Sever's and Edgar F. Hunt & Co.'s bookstores.

Respectfully, GREENOUGH & CO., Editors and Publishers.

BRETT'S EUREKA SALVE! PURELY VEGETABLE.

This remarkable cleansing and healing agent having been used by the dis- coverer and his family, employes, friends, and neighbors for many years, in numberless cases, with the most satisfactory results, we feel the utmost confi- dence in offering it to the public, (which we do by the earnest solicitations of those who have used it), for the immediate Relief and Permanent Cure of BURNS, SCALDS, BRUISES, CUTS, CATARRH, FELONS, CORNS, FROZEN HANDS AND FEET, CHILBLAINS, OLD SORES, SORE THROATS, DIPTHERIA, PILES, BAD COLDS IN THE HEAD, RHEUMATIC AND NEURALGIC PAINS; also, PAINS IN THE BACK, SIDE, AND BREAST, NUMBNESS OF LIMBS, COLD FEET, CHAPPED HANDS, SORE EYES, VARICOSE VEINS, SORE LIPS, AND ULCERS. It produces circulation, and prevents and removes inflammation, and stagnation of fluids, and maturation in sores, which is the cause of pain and soreness; and also prevents mortification from setting in, if applied in season, used freely, and renewed often.
