All interest due has been collected except from two persons.
In conclusion, I wish to call your attention to the fact that, while forty of the above named borrowers have been and now are paying us six (6) per cent. interest, the other one,-Chand- ler Titus-for over eleven years past has, by the terms of one of his notes, been paying us seven (7) per cent. interest on a note of $340., and if still continued, it seems to me will be un- equal and unjust. I therefore recommend that this town at its next meeting, pass a special vote that our future agents of this Devise be directed to collect only six (6) per cent. interest on this note referred to.
All of which is respectfully submitted.
N. W. PRESTON, Agent.

DISTRICT SCHOOLS.
Having been more or less familiar with the schools in town for many years, we can safely say that we never witnessed a more successful year. In most of the schools, the same teacher has taught for the whole year, and in no instance has it been found necessary to make a change of teachers during a term. This speaks well for the selecting and contracting committees.
Your Committee are of opinion that the interests of the schools demand a change of Readers. Our old stereotyped readers have long been in use in our schools, and as long been (to put it mildly) disliked by our teachers.
WM. D. JONES, N. W. PRESTON, E. C. ESTEN,
Superintending Committee.
