ANNUAL REPORT
REPORT OF THE CEMETERY TRUSTEES
To the Citizens and the Board of Selectmen of the Town of Merrimac :
The following report is submitted by the Trustees of Cemeteries for the year of 1950.
With the purchase of new equipment during the last two years the tool shed at Locust Grove Cemetery had out- grown its usefulness and much of the equipment had to be stored in the Tomb. During the past summer the Superin- tendent built a much needed addition to the tool shed where we are now able to store all the equipment and we now can use the Tomb for its intended purpose during the winter months.
During the past season many lots in the Church Street and Lower Corner Cemeteries were repaired and put into better condition as were also lots that needed it in Locust Grove Cemetery and we intend to improve more lots dur- ing the coming year as our funds permit.
We thank the citizens of the town for their support at the Town Meeting last year and wish to state that we are open for suggestions from them concerning improve- ments to the cemeteries that can be done within our ap- propriation and ask for their further support at the next Town Meeting.
Respestfully submitted, CLIFTON V. BIXBY, ARTHUR D. LOCKWOOD, CECIL E. WELCH,
Trustees of Cemeteries

ANNUAL REPORT
REPORT OF THE MERRIMAC BOARD OF PUBLIC WELFARE
To the citizens of the Town of Merrimac:
The elected members of the Board of Public Welfare organized for the past year as follows:
Hazen M. Emery Chairman
Ellen M. Wallace Clerk
J. Arthur Ollis Other Member
We have administered aid, as a board, to recepients. who were in need and again found it necessary to have available funds transferred to our department, due we feel to a great extent to illness to some member of families. so aided. We hope that this condition will not occur this year and that the sum of ten thousand dollars ($10,000.00) will be sufficient to carry us through the year, on Tempo -- rary Aid.
As it appears that the needs should be about the same this year on Aid to Dependent Children as in 1950, we are asking for Six Thousand Dollars ($6,000.00) to be appropriated.
We suggest that the Town appropriate the sum of Forty Thousand Dollars ($40,000.00) hoping that this amount will be sufficient for this type of relief in 1951.
Respectfully submitted, HAZEN M. EMERY, ELLEN M. WALLACE, J. ARTHUR OLLIS,
Board of Public Welfare
