SELECTMEN'S REPORT.

To the Tax-payers of Milford : -

We herewith submit the annual report of the receipts and expen- ditures of said town, for the year ending February 18, 1878.

The amount of taxes assesse l and committed to the collector for the year 1877 was $84,192.88.

It will be seen by his report that the amount uneollceted is $11,- 670.33, which, considering the great depression in business, and that there was no discount allowed the present year for prompt payment, we think speaks well for the tax-payers of Milford.

The amount appropriated for highways for the year 1877 was $8,000 ; the amount appropriated for sidewalks and eurb-stones was $750 ; making a total of $8,750 for highways and sidewalks. We therefore eredit the town with the whole amount ($8,750), and charge the amount paid for conereting, curbing, and labor on the highways and sidewalks to the appropriations, amounting to $8,915.54.

At the elose of the year February 19, 1878, there was cash in the hands of the treasurer, $6,155.88.
