TOWN WARRANT.


Commonwealth of Massachusetts.


HAMPDEN SS.


To MARSHALL Fox, Constable of the Town of Palmer, Greet- ing :


In the name of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts you are here- by directed to notify and warn all the inhabitants of the Town of Palmer, qualified to vote in elections and town affairs, to meet at the Town Hall, in said Palmer, on Monday, the Seventeenth of March, inst., at nine o'clock, A. M., to act on the following articles, viz :


ARTICLE 1. To choose a Moderator to preside in said Meeting.


ART. 2. To choose all necessary Town Officers for the year en- suing.


ART. 3. To act on the Annual Reports of the Selectmen, School Committee, Overseers of the Poor, and other officers of the Town.


ART. 4. To see if the Town will increase the number of the School Committee.


ART. 5. To see if the Town will vote to instruct the School Committee to appoint a Superintendent of the Town Schools, and establish his salary.


ART. 6. To see if the Town will authorize each school district to choose their own Prudential Committee-and authorize them to contract with School Teachers for their respective districts.


ART. 7. To raise such sums of money as may be necessary to pay State and County taxes, for support of schools, highways, and bridges, and all other Town charges for the year ensuing, and make appropriations of the same.


ART. 8. To see if the Town will raise any money, and appro- priate the same, to liquidate or reduce the debts of the Town.

ART. 9. To determine the manner of repairing the Highways and Bridges the ensuing year.


ART. 10. To see what course the Town will take to collect the taxes that may be assessed the year ensuing.


ART. 11. To see if the Town will authorize their Treasurer to borrow sufficient money to pay the families of Volunteers, until the same is paid from the State.


ART. 12. To see if the Town will vote to pay the families of Volunteers any more than it receives from the State.


ART. 13. To see if the Town will vote to allow discounts upon the taxes that may be assessed, and state the terms and conditions of the same.


ART. 14. To see if the Town will vote to instruct the Assessors to make out and deliver to the Town Clerk a copy of the Town Valuation of the year ensuing, for publication with the next report of the Selectmen, and pass any vote on the same.


ART. 15. To revise the list of jurors.


ART. 16. To choose Committees-and give them instructions.


And you are hereby required to serve this warrant by posting up attested copies thereof at the different public places designated by vote of the Town, eight days at least before the holding of said meet- ing. Hereof fail not, and make due return of this warrant, with your doings thereon, to the Town Clerk, on or before the time of said meeting.
