TOWN WARRANT.


Commonwealth of Massachusetts.


HAMPDEN, SS.


To MARSHALL Fox, Constable of the Town of Palmer, Greeting :


In the name of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, you are hereby directed to notify and warn all the inhabitants of the Town of Palmer, qualified to vote in elections and town affairs, to meet at the Town Hall, in said Palmer, on Monday, the sixteenth of March, instant, at ten o'clock A. M., to act on the following articles, viz :


ARTICLE 1. To choose a Moderator to preside in said Meeting.


ART. 2. To choose all necessary Town Officers for the year ensuing.


ART. 3. To act on the Annual Reports of the Selectmen, School Committee, Overseers of the Poor, and other officers of the Town.


ART. 4. To see if the Town will authorize each school district to choose their own Prudential Committee-and authorize them to contract with School Teachers for their respective districts.


ART. 5. To see if the Town will vote to instruct the School Com- mittee to appoint a Superintendent of the Town Schools, and establish his salary.


ART. 6. To raise such sums of money as may be necessary to pay State and County taxes, for support of schools, highways, and bridges, and all other Town charges for the year ensuing, and make appropria- tions of the same.


ART. 7. To see if the Town will raise any money and appropriate the same, to liquidate or reduce the debts of the Town.


ART. 8. To see if the Town will authorize the Treasurer to borrow the money to pay up the Town's note at the Boston Five Cents Savings Bank, and to borrow money from time to time for the immediate wants of the Town, and pass any vote on the same.


ART. 9. To determine the manner of repairing the Highways and Bridges the ensuing year.

ART. 10. To see what course the Town will take to collect the taxes that may be assessed the year ensuing.


ART. 11. To see if the Town will vote to allow discounts upon the taxes that may be assessed, and state the terms and conditions of the same.


ART. 12. To see if the Town will raise and appropriate one hundred dollars, to repair the Warren road from the house of J. S. Hastings to the house of Margaret and Jane McMasters, or to instruct the Select- men of Palmer to suitably repair it.


ART. 13. To see if the Town will abolish the school districts, and pass any vote on the same.


ART. 14. To see if the Town will make any By-Laws and regula- tions to prevent the pasturing of cattle and other animals upon the streets and highways of the Town.


ART. 15. To see if the Town will vote to sell the Town Farm, and to purchase another one, and pass any vote on the same.


ART. 16. To see if the Town will sell its interest in Sophronia Har- ris' house.


ART. 17. To see if the Town will accept the bridge on the highway near Edson Walker's saw-mill.


ART. 18. To revise the list of jurors.


ART. 19. To choose Committees-and give them instructions.


And you are hereby required to serve this warrant by posting up attested copies thereof at the different public places designated by vote of the Town, seven days at least before the holding of said meeting. Hereof fail not, and make due return of this warrant, with your doings thereon, to the Town Clerk, on or before the time of said meeting.
