TOWN WARRANT.
ESSEX, SS: To Charles Pray, one of the Constables of the Town of Andover, - Greeting.
In the name of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, you are hereby directed to notify and warn the inhabitants of the Town of Andover, qualified to vote in elections and in town affairs, to meet and assemble at the Town House in said Ando- ver, on Monday, the 4th day of March next, at twelve of the clock, noon, to act on the following Articles, viz :
1st. To choose a Moderator to preside in said meeting.
2d. To choose a Town Clerk for the year ensuing.
3d. To hear and act upon the Report of the Auditors.
4th. To choose Selectmen, Assessors, Overseers of the Poor, Town Treasurer, School Committee, Constables, and all other usual or necessary Town Officers.
5th. To see if the Town will authorize the Town Treasurer to hire money in anticipation of the Taxes, if found necessary.
6th. To see if the Town will authorize the Prudential Com- mittees of the several School Districts to select and contract with Teachers.
7th. To see what sum of money the Town will raise for the repairs of their Highways the ensuing year.
8th. To see what method the Town will adopt for the repairs of the Highways.
9th. To see what sum of money the Town will raise for the maintenance of their Public Schools for the year ensuing.
10th. To see what method the Town will adopt to apportion the School Money among the School Districts.
11th. To see what sum of money the Town will raise to defray their other necessary expenses.
12th. To see what method the Town will adopt for the collec- tion of the public Taxes the ensuing year.

13th. To determine what compensation the Town will pay to Firemen for their services the ensuing year.
14th. To see if the Town will adopt the 2d Section of the 83d Chapter of the General Statutes of this Commonwealth relating to catching pickerel.
15th. To see if the Town will place a belfry and bell on their Town House, on petition of Thomas Smith and 53 others.
16th. To see if the Town will accept as a public highway the piece of road leading from the house of Mrs. John Mann, in Ballard Vale, to the place where said piece of road intersects the road leading to Tewksbury, on petition of Joseph S. Gile and nine others.
17th. To see if the Town will reconsider the vote passed at a former meeting denying the right of way, by the heirs of John G. Moor, through land belonging to Simeon Hardy, situated in the West Parish of said Andover, on petition of Milton Moor and others.
18th. To see if the Town will take any action with reference to General Statutes Chap. 57, Sect. 152, respecting deposits in Savings Banks.
19th. To see if the Town will lease the land in the rear of the Town House, or take any other action relating thereto.
20th. To see if the Town will discontinue a piece of old road near the house of Simeon F. Flint, and give the same to him, on petition of Simeon F. Flint, and others.
Hereof fail not, and made due return of this Warrant with your doings thereon, to the Town Clerk, at the time and place of meeting as aforesaid.
